New Taipei City Police Department

The Police Code empowers police officers to use all legal means to accomplish their four main functions:

1. Maintaining public order
2. Defending public security
3. Preventing hazards
4. Promoting the welfare of the people

In order to perform these functions, we analyze our current public security situation and implement concrete public security measures.
Crime, especially of a violent nature, interferes with our pursuit of a peaceful and happy life. And theft, which accounts for the largest percentage of all crime, receives priority attention in police work. In order to detect and prevent crime, the New Taipei City Police Department has initiated a campaign against criminal activity and criminal elements. Frequent traffic checks play an important role in this initiative and no main street is ignored.
